THEME: Community Transformation through Research and Innovation for Improvement of Human Condition in the ‘New Normal’
Conference Sub-Themes
In line with the overarching theme, the workshop will address the following sub-themes:
- Educational Transformation in the ‘New Normal’: Exploring the future of education through digital learning innovations, inclusive learning environments, and strategies to ensure equitable access to quality education.
- Role of biomedical science in public health and community wellbeing: Investigating the role of research and innovation in strengthening healthcare systems, public health responses, mental health support, and community resilience in the face of global health challenges.
- Technology and Social Innovation: Assessing the impact of technological advancements, including artificial intelligence, big data, and digital solutions, on social transformation and sustainable community development.
- Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development: Identifying innovative economic models and strategies for poverty alleviation, employment creation, and environmental sustainability in post-pandemic societies.
- Catholic Ethos and Holistic Development: Examining how Catholic teachings and values can guide ethical research and innovation for community transformation, fostering respect for human dignity, social justice, and the common good.
General Guidelines
The presentation formats are oral presentations and poster presentations.
- Oral presentations: Individual or co-authored paper. The duration of an oral presentation is 15 minutes, including discussion time.
- Poster presentations: Individual or co-authored poster. The size of a poster should be not more than 200 cm (height) x 90 cm (width).
Submission guidelines
- Word limit for presentation titles is 30 words (in English).
- Word limit for an extended abstract is 1500-2000 words (in English).
- For presentations on empirical studies, data collection and all analyses must be completed prior to submission, and the paper should not be more than 12 pages.
- Abstracts cannot be modified once they have been submitted.
Submissions are allowed in two ways;

- Hard copy delivered to the office of the School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR) of the University of Kisubi.
*Note: Once you have submitted, you will not be able to retrieve your submission for editing. If you later decide to make a change to your submission, you will have to resubmit the Abstract in its entirety unless changes are minor enough to be added manually (contact sgsr@unik.ac.ug to request a minor correction).

All Conference participants must pay the registration fee. For each paper/poster, at least one author must attend and pay the registration fee. Delegates can choose any of the options given below to participate at the Conference.
